Working at Canopy
Canopy Simulations is a small, natively remote company that provides a web platform for running our in-house motorsport simulations at scale in the cloud.
Canopy was founded in the UK in 2015 and has grown organically, supported by revenue, ever since. We are widely known and respected in the motorsport industry as the leading provider of motorsport simulation.
We offer a generous remuneration package, an experience of the technological cutting edge, and a friendly and flexible working environment.
We operate a fully distributed team, so the ability to work independently and communicate effectively from a remote working location is vital. However, we are happy for employees to make the best possible use of the flexibility we offer. Canopy staff have previously spent months working from the Alps, Italy and Portugal, to name just a few. As long as you have a good internet connection, the world is your oyster. If you’re going to base yourself in a different territory, you’ll need to ensure there are at least a few hours overlap with UK working hours each day.
We stay connected using Slack, as well as regular video calls and catch ups, and we meet in person too. Some team members also use coworking spaces.
Full stack software engineers: Angular, .NET, Docker, DevOps.
We are open to hearing from experienced full stack developers to join our platform team.
Our main product is a web application that allows customers to configure inputs to their simulations (for example their car and track), perform design-of-experiments, and submit their workloads to our back-end infrastructure where it is run distributed in the cloud, after which the customer can explore the results in the browser.
In addition to the main product, you would also be working on the supporting software and infrastructure, including our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD systems and writing and maintaining tests in various testing frameworks.
From time to time you would need to correspond with customers regarding support issues.
Requirements:
You should have In depth experience with our primary stack:
- Angular (TypeScript)
- .NET 5 (C#)
In addition, experience with some the following or their equivalents will prove valuable:
- Microsoft Azure (CosmosDB, Azure Batch, Blob Storage, etc.)
- D3.js
- Three.js
- Python
- Kubernetes
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub
- Testing frameworks (Jasmine, Protractor, MSTest, etc.)
You will need to be enthusiastic to learn, in an appropriate amount of time, the technologies you are not already familiar with.
We look for people who value good programming practices, automated testing, and doing things right.
